Reece (Lungile) Slade is a South African activist with a focus on the Environment, Education and Children’s Rights. His Non-Profit Organization, Earth Kids Org, was the runner-up for the Turner Social Change Prize at the 17th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and received two International Children’s Peace Prize nominations for their efforts in Recycling Education and Early Childhood Development. Reece is one of 12 children internationally on the Children’s Advisory Team created by Child Rights Connect to provide the narrative of youth in decision making within the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. He has contributed to the creation of a child-friendly Children Human Rights Defenders safeguarding framework and is the author of “Our Lives in Lockdown” which focuses on the wellbeing of children during Covid-19.
